The fight against the 2012 Western Tent Caterpillar continues. They have defoliated the entire old orchard and we and working continuously to keep the damage limited in our new orchard. Sadly, I am not certain how many of 130 + year old apple trees will recover from such damage and stress. Time will tell, but this is certainly a painful spring.

Cradle to Cradle. This wood is on to its next life cycle. You can never mimic the history of aged wood or compete with its storied past!! Taking old barnwood from the farm and re-purposing it into 1 x 4 lap for some siding accents. Now it will have more stories to share.
